Which is better: Windows XP, Vista or 7
M
xp was good vista sucked and now 7 is a combo of xp and a fixed vista i have it and i like it but ppl still perfer xp so idk
I
msgive started using xp again recently because dos games wont work with 7 and dosbox runs too slow
both are equally as good for my use(gaming). because 7 has the latest direct x and xp plays the older games
w7 is an upgrade of xp, it can do anything xp did, with the looks of vista. I recently played prince of persia and fallout 1, 2 on 7, with no problems

how many dos games did you play?
7 doesn't have dos
I
i know it doesnt have dos games, but ive played, prince of persia, the first one, and fallout 1 and 2, which are dos games
M
but how do they run?
I
they run perfect, once in a while, you see, an off color, but or like less then a second, it doesnt affect gameplay in anyway
M
what version of windows 7 are you using because ultimate will not play dos games? you need dosbox

I
im using w7 professional. but you cant play the game right away, just in case, you have to right click, and then i believe it was, change compatibility, or something like that, and then click on what settings you want, you can choose, windows xp sttings for the game, and runs as in xp. you only have to do this once for each game

i absolutely love Win 7 because its :1. fast2. simple3. looks greathate it because:1. i blue screen, and reinstall windows once a week.2. uses up to much of my 32 GB RAM....3. to Damn glitchy...4. i absolutely hate UAC....5. it has to ask me before i install anything! :(6. it plain out sucks, gonna install Linux, much better OS. :)looks like i just hate windows... :)

not on mine, google it, theres loads of people asking same thing
I
this can be part your computer and part windows 7, becuase windows 7 requires better computer specs to run then xp
T
plus, DOS games have trouble running on multiple processors/cores, so you gotta set it to use 1 processor/core.....

funilly enough, some dos games do actually work fine on multicore.

I cant get any to work in any compatability setting, tried them all umpteen times. the only way is dosbox or xp.
Google says the only way is dosbox because windows 7 lacks full dos support or something.
L
yes that is correct.
I
i tried that game, monkey island, didnt play much, but what i saw, it worked fine :)
