What is light, without darkness?

tehuber1337Light is electromagnetic radiation, with or without darkness. Whether or not humans can perceive it doesn't change this fact.If you want to get philosophical, it's better to use more abstract terms. For example, you could say that hope is the absence of despair or vice versa. However, this is still a case of counter-definition, which is somewhat tautological, but that's often the nature of antonyms for you. See also: Newspeak, from George Orwell's 1984.So perhaps it would be better to make a more specific argument in regards to abstract concepts. To continue the previous example, one could argue that "it takes true despair to realise true hope" and/or vice versa, or something to this effect.PS: Consider yourself lucky that I decided not to bother with the physics of the initial premise ;)
Very interesting. What is your uptake on the "Meaning Of Life"? Is there really one? If so is it different for eachs own? When will we know when we accomplish it?(On topic: Without light we couldn't know darkness, without darkness we could know light.)

corprlfishBite me.
Umad?Personally I'm sick of hearing all this RPG-sourced nonsense about darkness in light and light in the darkness. As gaynor said, you should have used "good and evil" if you wanted it not to get into physics. Don't bitch when people don't give you the answer you want.

gaynorvaderIf you didn't want to get "sciency" you should have asked a more philosophical question like 'What is good without evil?' or 'What is pleasure without misery?' :)

Once more, inb4.

Then don't ask if it's not going to change anything.

It's the curse of making intelligent posts. Nobody gives a fuck.

:D I do! However, it was on the other page and it clearly needed to be said again because of the quote in my previous post.

That would make you delusional. If I believe I'm an hovercraft, despite what science has to say, they'd probably lock me up again.

Unless you can get sufficient other people (preferably rich) to believe the same thing. Then it would be classed as a religion. :P

The internet is Fish's only source of attention, because you aren't interacting directly with him.
On topic: You can put some light into darkness and get rid of it, but you can't put some kind of anti-torch into light and get rid of. ERGO, your pretentiously philosophical sounding riddle is nothing more than attention seeking psycho babble. XYLOPHONE!
