resident evil 2...on nintendo...theroies?

*This is theoretical, and is differently not gonna happen, keep this in mind*The theory was if resident evil ds sold well enough, a port of resident evil 2 might have made it's way onto the ds, but this sadly never happen, and the most we have is a demo port of it on the gba (if you search youtube you'd find it).So if this game did make it to ds, what would have been some of the challenges to overcome, and what could they put into it to make it fresh again? One challenge would be game size (it was a miracle they did the first one in 128mb, but this is a 2 cd game...) and the only thing I can think of to add is another rebirth mode.So what are your thoughts?EDIT:We've already discussed the idea of resident evil 2 on ds as a coin flip of 2 carts to do the game justice or not bother as it'll cost more in the long run.Current theory:Resident evil 2 on wiiRevamp or port from the gamecube version...which was a port of the dual shock edition on the ps1...your call :)

Good question.Look, the file size of the first resident evil was nearly a full disc, yet they managed to condence the size...and even add new content.I'm just wondering how they might go about it, and what they might add...Maybe a proper co-op mode unlike the other resident evil ds game :PAnd yes...they did try to port the game on gba originally, but that fell thru for some reason (I saw it on youtube-when my net is un-capped I'll post a demo vid) and remour of a ds port of it was also mentioned...unofficially or just plain remour of course.

Hrm, as 2 seperate games..sold seperatly. And when linking the 2, prehaps you could do a whole new scenario with both character's on screen. In the originals you could do both scenario's with ether person, of course the ds ones may not be able to handle that, so this might be a good idea. What a great way to make money-heck an active co-op mode would have incentives now another mode is included, and may actually get some real use!

Re: resident evil 2...on ds...theroies?but if the game was on the DS would be necessary to reduce the quality of audio and video ... no, not only that, it would be necessary to remove videos, it may reduce them without audio systems talking or something.
My point is that although the two cartridges were used, which I admit is the only way to look like a reasonable possibility, would have taken many of the resources of the game, to the point that looked like a simple cheap copy

Re: resident evil 2...on ds...theroies?The Two game versions sounds good. And a 256 mb cart doesn't sound impossible either. Lego Rock Band did it.They can keep the quality of RE:DS, and maybe work on it a bit.Yeah?

Well, limited it may be, but it couldnt be any more limited than RE:DS was. Capcom would surely work and tweak the engine.

Re: resident evil 2...on ds...theroies?I think it would be best a kind of remake for the psp

You could just have a direct emulation of it on your psp...as I have RIGHT now :)But that is unrelated, the point is they made a ds one...I reckon (and from what I heard) it was a marketing experiment to see if it's worth making another. If the first one sold better, we might have seen resident evil 2...Instead years after it's release, I still see copies on shop floors...brand new...marked down to $10AUDYup, jb hi fi has awsome bargins...if at the cost of one's heart :(

Wait...have you even seen the remake of the first resident evil on ds?That only used 128mb.The original was over 500mb, meaning that they totally re-worked it, not, I repeat, NOT a straight port.Quality was fine, vid was shrunken just a fraction, but overall I reckon it looked BETTER than the ps1 version.Besides...did anyone notice the part where I mentioned they were planning to make a GBA PORT of this until they dropped it?The demo...looked awsome...look for it on yourtube, it's true gba quality graphics that's for sure.

But the story on that isn't true towards how resi evil 2 really went...and don't get me started on the code veronica part :PIf audio and video are all your worried about...then your a new type gamer I say.I was brought up with the 8 bit world, hearing bad audio is nothing but a drop in the ocean for me, same with vids...there is only 5 vids anyway, quick intro, start story x2, end story x2.I reckon with a bit of hard work, love and care, it'll come out fine if they tried, after all, it's capcom.

Re: resident evil 2...on ds...theroies?If anyone who would pay for a card with game it, they could make a 500mb card and fill it.. if they wish to, why anyone should pay upto £30 for 16mb worth of data?, apart from a mug...Come on nintendo give us zelda with 256mb worth of data and gameplay!, And yes reident evil 2 on 256mbs card...But look at sizes of chips thease days, upto 32gb, what's wrong with them using 1gb chip on a nintendo ds ???

Entirely different type of memory that costs less to produce and is not suitable for use in game carts.

Re: resident evil 2...on ds...theroies?I think it would be an ace idea myself. In the opinions of all my friends, Resident Evil 2 was the best one from the PS1. I don't think size of the file should be a problem seen as Archaic Selaed Heat (A.S.H) is released on a 2 gigabit cart :P

i have no problem with the 8 bit audio, actually i think the bets videogames songs come from the 8 bit classics, but my point is that they would not use 8 bit sound.
so a bad audio a bad video and probably a bad game play happened to me more than once. However i must admit that I may be exaggerating
the game may be very well (if the release it)

It's the biggest I've seen. Lego Rock Band's got a 256 mb cart. So does Band Hero and Sands Of Destruction.
