equitypeteyok you do realize your starting to sound crazy.
did you get this idea from anywhere or is it just your own opinion?
Lol. That is what my mom (and Sylvia Brown) theorizes.
allkratos · #43how come people choose their life?earth is not the only habitable planet nor it is important in the universe.no one out there will care for the earth...If they choose..why earth!why god care so much about earth that he made other places so unsafe!
True. Devout religious people think that earth is the only planet out of the infinite space that could sustain life.
snebbers · #44I would also like to know the answer to that..A loving god would not create life, for it would also mean death and suffering.
Listen, okay, I am not crazy, but this is what my mom (and indirectly Sylvia Brown) thinks, and tells me. I don't like arguing with her, but here is what she thinks. If a loving God did not create life, than what did? There has to be a man behind this. The Mother God is emotional, while Father God is logical. (Again crap I doubt) The logical Father God wanted to create the universe, oversee, and study it, while mother god cares for the things he created. Father God helps you plan your life, and since happiness and serenity is apparently the only feeling you feel in heaven, you have no idea what you are in for. Mother God is the one who tries to emotionally help you in life. As everything happens for a reason, then we should have a reason why we exist.I know I sound insane right now. STFU and read Sylvia Brown's books, my mom made me read one of them, and I thought she was insane also. The one I read was 'Mother God'. By the way I think Brown is spelled wrong (might be Browne).

Before i start, understand that i don't believe in any of this.
My replies will be based on the bible itself, and on the Christian ideology.
mikeacGod does not punish.
Ever heard of Sodom and Gomorrah?(Just one of many examples)
He does not have 'rules'. Unless you are talking about the commandments.
There are over 600 commandments in the Bible.
Kinda weird for someone who does not have rules.
Yeah, God will covet his neighbors posessions, murder and steal, uhuh.
Seems like he was pretty jealous of the other gods that other tribes worshiped.
That can be classified as coveting i suppose.
He drowned the entire world one time, that can be classified as murder.
He orders his gang of mercenaries (or if you prefer, Joshua and his soldiers) to keep everything from the lands they invaded, including the virgin women for themselves. That can be classified as stealing.
He is not a tyrant or a dictator, as he did not force people to 'obey' him. And people don't have to 'obey' him, as he cannot force us in what to do.
Except if you don't, you'll go to hell.
Guess that means if i put a gun to your head, and tell you to give me your money, i am not forcing you to give me your money.
It's your choice. You can either give it to me and live, or not and die.I'm not forcing you on anything.
Your hero is the guy that pretty much betrayed God,
I would of done the same if god was real.
rules Hell
By choice?
Or was he banished there?
he is technically a tyrant, as he forces people to be tortured when they don't want to be, and is a dictator in his own special way.
So your saying that God has no power over Satan, and that God can't stop people from going to hell.
That might be your personal belief, but that is not Christian theology.
In Christian theology it is God who decides who goes to heaven and who goes to hell.
The Devil doesn't seem to have a choice on who gets sent his way.
So, yeah, not really seeing how he can be a dictator if he has to follow God's rules.
Also, here's a fun exercise; read the bible and try to figure out who killed more people.God, or Satan?
The answer is pretty obvious as to who the real tyrant is.
People choose their purpose and details of their life before the come to earth. If life was completely random, unplanned and unsupervised, life in general would be like California's economy.
Don't know what you mean by your analogy, but life seems a lot more random then it seems like it was pre-planned before we were born.
Why would someone choose to be born as a miscarriage?

Replying to #47

No, no, no.
You got it all wrong, see, there are three goddesses.
Their names are Din, Nayru and Farore.
Din created the material realm, Nayru gave the realm order, and Farore created all life forms.
Din is the goddess of power, Nayru is the goddess of wisdom, and Farore is the goddess of Courage.
Now prove me wrong.

Note: I don't believe in half the shit my mom, Sylvia Brown, or the christian bible says. I'd rather be a Muslim, Buddhist, or Hindu person, no matter how out there that religion is.You don't believe in this ALL OF THIS stuff, so I don't see why you are arguing

Replying to #48

Mhm. Anyways. I'm not even gonna argue about the bible. All i'm gonna say is that book is so damn old it has probably been edited several times.

Replying to #48

These to me are not rules. They are stating what you can or cannot do, and you personally choose to break them, which are pretty much rules. EXCEPT, why would God create rules, if he wanted to study the universe?

Replying to #48

Yeah. And I know of a ton more examples from the bible. God does not punish by torture is what I mean, that is "Hell's" purpose. Why would God punish, as he is a nice forgiving God?

Replying to #48

I was being sarcastic. You said:
"...And you want to rule over everything, punishing whoever breaks your rules, while you are free to break them yourself."Yeah. If God has RULES why would he break them? Very ungodlike. Maybe he is so mad cause people killed Jesus.
Mark_80Guess that means if i put a gun to your head, and tell you to give me your money, i am not forcing you to give me your money.
It's your choice. You can either give it to me and live, or not and die.I'm not forcing you on anything.I would of done the same if god was real.
Same reason. You had a choice to steal my money, or leave me alone. Guess what, since you chose to steal my money, so you would go to hell when you die. I would not give it to you. I'd rather be shot to death. You are not forcing to give me money, as it is my choice to give in or die. A force is where you cannot choose at all. For example, if someone were to nail you to the ground, and you cannot move, and he puts a gun to your head, what are you gonna do? The only choice I can think of is death. Bleeding on him would not do anything. What an amazing, kind god the Christian God is, isn't he?Nice Zelda Goddess rebuttal. I cannot counter that kinda logic. It would be weird though, if that was true.WHEN I DIE:
Hey, how come there are three goddesses at the gates of heaven? OMG IS THAT DIN NAYRU AND FARORE!!!!! Mark_80 was right! You know what, I'm gonna end my posts right here. Since science cannot explain the creation of earth and the existence of God, I need something to fall back on until that happens, so I have a little faith in my parents, Sylvia Browne, God, and all that great stuff.

Replying to #49

That's your personal belief.
My statement was originally only taking into consideration what the bible and christian theology state.
In the bible, they are commandments.Which to me = rules.
In Christian theology it is because man is unable to follow these commandments that Jesus had to come and do the whole sacrifice thing.
So, i guess they are pretty much rules, since if you don't follow them, you burn forever.

Replying to #49

Except he does.
Look at all the plagues he sent upon people.
If that's not torture, what is?
Look at what he did to Job, just to win a bet from his pal Satan.
And he's not so forgiving, as he will only let you in heaven if you worship Jesus.
you can be a good guy all your life, but you will burn in hell if you simply refuse to accept Jesus.(according to Christian theology)

Replying to #49

Ask him.
Why did he say Thou Shall Not Kill, and then kill more people then anyone ever has?
And wasn't Jesus' death a part of his master plan?

Listen kid. Do yourself a favor and reject everything your mom and Sylvia Browne said regarding religion. The superficial reason of "because some person said so" that somehow becomes sufficient enough to stop people like you from questioning things logically is exactly how ignorance is spread. After all, you told someone to "STFU and read Sylvia Browne", which wasn't a good sign about you in particular.A little exercise for you to try: ask your mom how is it possible that "people choose their purpose and details of their life before being born". Also ask her to supply some actual facts and evidence to base it off from.If she can't give a proper answer to my question, then her theory is completely baseless, which is logically sufficient enough to be rejected. But regardless, I'm interested in what your mom has to say. I do look forward to debating with her.By the way:

^ That is a logical fallacy. Specifically, it's a non sequitur as there is no flow of logic at all between those two statements. Also, you failed to look into a possibility that people can plan their lives while living, and in many cases, people's plans do change due to certain events that occur, like getting laid off from a job, natural disaster destroying their home, or having a car accident. But of course, you have yet to learn this as you are a young boy that has yet to gain real life experience yourself.

you know you can get a hell of allot of information from a name and a number not only that but they can get a hell of allot of information from you by the way you answer and they ask questions that will never make them sound wrong like "you don't work with children do you?" so whatever your answer it allows them to be right as its "ah thought you did" or "no, see i thought not"

On top of what both, Mark_80 and equitypetey said, I can prove to you DIRECTLY that 'psychics' are con-artists that prey on gullible people like you. Why don't you PM me your name and phone number, and I'll PM you back all the relevant information about you and your family. I'm not a psychic myself, but I'm damn certain I can hit all your details with DEAD ON ACCURACY just like that 'psychic' did.And after that, I'll reveal all the "psychic's" tricks to you.EDIT: Screw it. Here's what the psychic did.To locate your home address, she looked you up on the Whitepages using the Reverse Lookup function. Try it out for yourself and see.And after that, it was just a simple fetch from an information database. Intelius is one such database in which all your information can be pulled up from with a fee. Speaking of fees, THAT is the reason why your consultation session fees with psychics are absurdly high. From that database, all your personal info about yourself, family, and relatives can be pulled from there.Got a MySpace, Friendster, or a Facebook account? Guess what? The 'psychic' can also pull info about your friends, as well as schools you have attended from there too. All it takes is a simple Google search. Is that enough to debunk the mystification of 'psychics' for you? Or are you still not convinced yet? Also mikeac, I really pity you. I really do. From all the posts you have made in this topic so far, it is clear to me that your mother is a horrible parent as she is instilling ignorance into you. If you want to become an atheist, what the hell is she going to do about that? Kick you out of the house? Frankly, I see that as a great bargain for you as you deserve a better mom than that. Your mother is a nutcase, which makes her an unfit parent in my book. If she was a good parent, she would at least teach you something about reality and real world experience, but alas, like most American parents, she is doing quite the opposite by shoving her imaginary friends down your throat.

Or in a more gentle manner of speaking, your religion is your choice. If you're having it forced onto you, or you're sticking to it simply because you may be kicked out of home should you decide otherwise, then you've pretty much already broken with your "faith", since it requires "faith" on your part. If you don't really believe it, then you're not really a Christian.
