download the CCCP pack,
it includes the Media Player Classic Homecinema, it's a great one
the pack should also update all your codecs, so it's a plus ;)http://www.cccp-project.net/

Winamp isn't the greatest for video playback, it lacks many codecs
but on the other hand, it's probably the best Music Player available

I use Winamp for audio, and Media Player Classic Home Cinema for video. I've also heard great things about VLC media player.

I prefer VLC to anything else, never had any problems with it... I guess it's because I really don't care for anime...

It plays somewhat everything at audio files.

Media Player Classic can play almost any media file. I use it all the time for videos.
For music, I use Winamp, with a few modifications.
Here's a screenshot of my Winamp:

Yeah it does, hardsubs it can read, duh, but it can also do softsubs too.I use VLC for all video playback and iTunes for playing music. Winamp is too... All over the place. + iTunes is the only thing that you can sync iPod Touches with.

it can read the old ones, but if you've tried watching the new releases from quality groups like SS-Eclipse or BSS, it won't work
