Actually, they were orginally going to have it on the NDS AND the GBA.
They didn't port. It was designed for GBA, but then they moved development to DS. Anyway, FINALY!
Wait, so it's originally a GBA release, but they took THIS LONG to port it to the NDS?
Hmm not bad at all, Even though it's just 12MB (Using skinnyrom) it's a really good RPG, The story and all is really entrateining also =), The only bad thing i encountered so far by playing is there are way too many fights... Just to get from the entrance to another, It takes like 6 fights =S, But guess it's not too bad either as you get kinda 'Forced' to train your character =P.
Graphics and combat remind me of chrono trigger
A 8mb game should be sweet after all look at how big cave story was and everyone LOVES it thanx
Who published this game? square enix?
A total clone of Chrono Trigger -- btw, meeuw, finish that shite, yo! like 16 endings... -- it has the same mechanics: combos, area attacks, etc. The only real differences I've seen 2 hrs in are a different menu system & ... you can't see enemies before you hit 'em... um... yea, that's about it. The dialog isn't quite as snappy, and I have to presume there's no time travel. As for the "slow" complaints, I do kind of agree, probably a few too many enemy encounters for my taste. Overall, not a bad game. Nothing new if you've played Chrono (and if you haven't, redress that PRONTO), but worth the 16 megs it'll occupy on your r4.
@silleeel: I think it's different enough from Chrono Trigger to not get sued. The fact that there are world-map-battles is already different, and the whole movement ability in battle (which is actually what I wish Chrono Trigger had for a long time now). They do copy the area-of-effect bit from Chrono Trigger, but that's been done by plenty of other games too. I agree that the world movement and initiation of random battles is clunky, and that the ATB in early game is sluggish no matter the Battle Speed. But the art style is reminiscent enough of FF6 and Chrono Trigger that it feels like another end-of-SNES era game, so I'm going to stick with it.
Guy's while the game IS small it is not a measly 8mb. It's 16. It's only 8mb COMPRESSED . And the game starts slow, but it picks up a bit after a couple hours. Give it a chance!
Supposed to be a mix with Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy Bout time it came out because I've been waiting for 2 months!! They kept on postponing the release date >\_
Its ok there are a few annoying things tho! firstly the guy above that called it "slow" is right! moving on the world map is irritating, takes forever to fill your atb even at the fastest battle speed! and battles overall just fell sluggish! also it annoys me that there is no flashy effects or at least a noise when entering a battle, the screen just go's black and then the battle screen pops up! first time it happened i thought i was just entering a new area! however its enjoyable none the less despite these faults im just wondering tho why the hell square have'nt taken legal action against this game, they really should have just called it "chrono trigger rom hack" as everything has been ripped out of that game!
