xbox live bans

RhithI heard that in theory you could some how force the RROD and then send it in for free and you would get a new console.The reason new accounts doesn't work is because they ban the individual MAC Address of the Xbox360 from what I've heard.
Best of luck in getting it sorted out, I'm going to play it safe and just get a gamefly subscription this holiday season.

yeah and they would say "look mate are you having a laugh, you've made illegal modifications to this POLICE!!!"its not a mac address but each console is coded and it is the code that gets banned. if i could swap it with another i would seeing as i have a dead console in a box but its not possible to change

You have to get a different Xbox 360, no other way as I know. I suddenly got disconnected from GTA yesterday while playing a match (I got owned). I reconnected and it worked. I haven't been banned yet, but I'm definitely going to stop, until a new firmware.

good idea as there are now a load of people now banned with the current firmware. but i am wondering whether it has anything to do with that i've been playing games before there release date in the uk
