Catz_102but the 360 red ring of death is easy to fix, there is a little switch on the inside.
Then you may fix my friends XBOX 360.

Catz_102i tried that one time, and they told me "get the fuck outta this store!"......i never went back....but the 360 red ring of death is easy to fix, there is a little switch on the inside.
Bullcrap!
You can't fix the RROD with just a little switch!
I have fixed (kinda) mine and I can tell you, there is NO switch in that thing at all. :P
I am STILL getting the E74 error after the XCLAMP method fix and I can't make it do jackshit unless I overheat it.
G
MR4YBasic trolling argument. 360's don't RRoD that much since they introduced the new Jasper boards a few years ago. The only considerable advantage of PS3 over 360 would be the bluray drive, but that's only because sony would prefer to die than license bluray for other consoles that aren't made by sony.
Nonsense:
Free online play
Internal PSU
Internal wireless card included in price
Easily replaceable Power chord
Rechargeable controllers with excellent charge times and battery life
Much more powerful processor (perhaps meaning a longer lifespan)
Internet Browser built in
Easy to set up media streaming with any OS
Compatible with non-Sony peripherals such as keyboards, mice, PC controllers, etc.
As well as the blu-ray player. And 360s
still RRoD
far more often that PS3s suffer from YLoD. The Wii generally doesn't die, but this is probably because the Wii generally doesn't get played as often or for as long as the PS3 or the 360.

I play my Wii a lot. I even have left it running all night a few times while falling asleep playing.
It hasn't overheated or anything.
The 360s flaw was the XCLAMPS put too much pressure on the CPUs, causing more heat than necessary. This causes the board to warp and thus the dreaded RROD. Or something along those lines... >.>

I got one question though why do people think the cell broadband engine is considered a super computer if any one knows what is the total performance of the CPU itself. And is there any machine besides the PS3 like a computer that uses this processor?
L

It is a much more efficient architecture than what is used in PCs, giving it vastly higher performance when carrying out certain types of calculation. There are cell based supercomputers.

So this is the reason why multiplat games look better on the 360 because they are more easier to program? And does the cell really have 8 cores or 8 Synergistic Processors?
L
Replying to #47
yes, but on the PS3 one is disabled and one is reserved.

I believe 1 is reserved for OS and the others are for used for games and 1 is disabled for better production yields.

Multiplatform games look better on the 360 because the way the cell processor works (at an incredibly simplistic level) is the software gives it a big list of problems to solve, the Cell architecture then sorts them and sorts them to different cores and returns the results. The way programming has worked up til now is that the processor is given tasks as they are needed, so that's how multiplatform games are designed as the 360 cannot handle lists like the PS3 can. Unfortunately what ends up basically happening is that the Cell ends up only using a fraction of its power and the games can suffer because of this.

you are very correct but for me if a game should be made first on the ps3 such as medal of honor , and vanquish the ported version of the 360 would not look as bad. I mean since the xenon and the CBE are very similar. Even though games are suffering first party game demolishes any 360 exclusive in terms of visual e.g god of war 3 uncharted2 and killzone 2&3

I beg to differ. I depends where you look at. (light, shadow, texture, shader)

They are not similar in any way, shape or form. the xenon is essentially the same as a PC processor.

Guitar Hero is also on the PS3, I don't know which avatar things you're talking about, but if they're the ones unique to MW2 then yes, the PS3 version does have them. Which County are you from, strange Irish person?
G
doggy-dja place where everybody has guns and where im a trained assassin!!!! IRELAND OVIOUSLY!
County not country silly! Also next to no one has guns in Ireland, even airsoft guns have ridiculous restrictions on them.

As a matter of fact they are ....but not by much the single core on the CBE is the only thing they have in common not th spe's ....funny i know this stuff because we had a school project on technology and we had to find info on any Cpu i chose CBE lol :P....but back on topic the CBE and XENON are both designed by IBM correct? thats another similarity :P
