Why your dear pets should be off the dinner table?

why eat a pet?
squash a bug and eat it...there annoying, and there are much more bugs than dogs/cats.

...Aside from me wondering why you know this, I thank you for this tidbit of information. Now I know what to eat if I want to kill myself.If I could I'd be a vegetarian, but I can't get past my craving for meat, specifically seafood. I'm all right with people eating because they're hungry, but I'd prefer the things I eat have a good life, at the very least.

it really does not matter would you eat a cow,fish,rhino or a dog
I myself find eating a dog or any house hold pet a very disgusting
but some people would find eating pork or cow as disgusting I as I do my pets

In a dire situation, is when I would only eat a cat or a dog.I could eat a cat first, but it would take some debating whether or not to eat one of my dogs.
Now if it were a dog I didn't like, I would eat it. :)

So?
Some people consider all farm animals pets (I would), but we eat pigs and cows and what not and most don't find it weird.

Seriously if you are actually weak from starvation you do not want to eat a cat, assuming we are talking about domestic cats they do taste vile, like diesel.I have ate domestic cat and dog. Neither are particularly good meat; cat is as I say above horrid, the meat is oily and has a chemical taste not unlike diesel but smells ok when cooking(a bit like mutton).Dog is not great either but not due to flavour, dog meat tastes quite good but the texture is poor, very stringy and when overcooked much tougher than overcooked beef. Still, when pot cooked slowly dog meat is quite good, like the scrag-end of pork but without the salt. Dog meat is probably served best with a sweet fruit sauce, I recon plum works better than apple also chocolate would work. This is assuming you can avoid the texture problems with the meat as I say above it is very stringy, frying or grilling is not going to work, roasting perhaps(never tried) may work, best to cook it real slow under a liquid and let the meat separate without getting dry. A good candidate for jerky?I honestly cannot provide any advice for cat meat, for me it tastes foul, those who I have ate it with me feel the same. I have no idea how this could be prepared to make it good. The meat is very strong, as intense as rotting meat but very different in flavour, very chemical very unnatural smell(uncooked), like it was made in a lab. My only suggestion is to render it down, bones and all into a lard and see if such a lard can be of use, but by god the smell of rendering even one cat would not be a smell i would want to experience.There is a reason people prefer to eat animals other than cats and dogs, and it is not because they are smart of fluffy or cute or nice, they just don't taste all that great. Dolphin tastes fucken amazing btw. ;)
