why a lot of things is only for premium memeber?

I have a complaint about the premium membership:
It's one thing that you can have increased speed but why can you have the emial notifications about x and y game only if you are a premium member?
I think it's so unfair, they should make it for everyone, not everyone can suscribe for premium membership!! :-\

It's a perk of paying money

yeah but anyway I think that, at least the email notification should be free, everythyng else could stay as premium member advantages

It probably won't be changed though.
Especially the download speed part.

There aren't so many brilliant advantages that regular users have enough to constantly complain about, yet enough that it would be worth purchasing if you download a lot of costly ROMs or want to give back to the site.
Romulation's a site that gives people the opportunity to try many full games for free and has a great forum with staff that are completely bearable; it feels stupid to complain about stuff like email notifications. If you care about a particular game that much make a note of it, research it, find out it's retail release date and search for it around the time that it's being released (whilst following the rules about making certain threads).

Do you know how much it costs to keep a server running? Ads don't help much, so Premium members should be respected.

The email notification system requires work from people who find out the release dates of upcoming games. These dates are not so easily acquired and added like the files. There might be conflicting release dates, delays, no dates (TBA), different country release dates, and this for all the different games. The large amount of work that has to be put into creating the upcoming releases list is the reason it is a premium feature.
