Which DSi version

Hi, I just got Nintendo DSi for my sons birthday but I don't know which version it is. I already got DSi (bought last year) and R4i card work no problem on "old" DSi. However, it cannot work on new DSi. All I get is black screen with error message. How can I check which software version I got on DSi and then to get another card. Thanks

You'll need to get a new flashcart due to the 1.4 firmware blocking it.I'd suggest the AK2i. Unless you're R4 is the upgradeable kind? (Not sure if there is one though...).
