What PS1 Final Fantasy is best?

Im just curious to see because many people seem to favor Final Fantasy VII. I myself favour Final Fantasy IX. I beleive people are a large fan of Final Fantasy VII because it was the first game to use CGI animation.

it wasnt the first game to use CGI. It was the first FF game on PSX and one of the launch games.Personally it would be a tie between VIII and IX for me.

There's not much between them really but VII>IX>VIII

8 is the only one that i really like (until X came out)... so VIII for me.

I prefer IX.
The ability system was amazing

In my opinion, Final fantasy 7 did have the best story and had the most relatable world. FFIX had the best ability system and overall gameplay, but since it was meant as a homage to the old games it did kind of lack originality and that took its toll on the story. Both great games, though I have to side with FF7.

In most FF9 games there is an optional boss that is way harder than the end boss. Shinryu immediately comes to mind.....so does horrible memories T_T

Also, for example, in Final Fantasy IX there are three optional bosses, a book monster, Hades, and the games superboss Ozma.
Ozma can be found on the chocobo islands at te end of the chocobo hot and cold game
Hades can be found to the right behind some rock/ wall in memoria in the water section
The book boss can only be fought during the 'save alexandria' mission, in the left library, talking to one of the book cases will attract this bosses attention

That isnt actually true, you can challenge the monster in the Alexandria library called "Tantarian" during the timed mission, and you have a further chance to do so when you return to Alexandria afterwards.
also I would hardly call Hades a superboss, considering he is easier than the last boss or even Kuja for that matter o.o
Ozma however.....yeah thats an annoying fight if you dont prepare for it.

I liked 7 for a long time, but honestly only because of zack, cloud was nothing but a shadow of zack, even at his peak cloud was less than zack. But I loved 9, 8 was ok but... was lacking something. 6 was cool, but I liked it best on the SNES. 5 was fun as hell.
