What if Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony merged?!
L
Imagine the behemoth of a console they'd produce with all those creative minds and technology. Now hear me out, I can imagine a lot of people thinking that's a stupid idea because the companies all want their money and they don't want the other players in the industry taking a slice of their pie BUT Imagine not having any console exclustivity. All players could enjoy and share their experiences of the same games. No one would be left out on a killer franchise. The player community would be blown wide open and there would be (at least from the console standpoint) less of the fanboy ranting. Sure, with all the competitors on the same side they could charge whatever the hell they like for the console and games but you'd pay a heap to buy all three platforms anyway right? All platforms have their advantages and disadvantages I just think a new super console would be amazing! Anyone agree with me?
L
Nope, competition is what keeps the market moving and the prices down.
C
Loony's right, it's competition that let them moving forward, if there's nothing to beat, why would they work their asses off to make the greatest console that everybody wants to buy? If there's only one, for sure gamers are going to buy it, crappy or not
A
Would be horrible.
H
Hell would break loose if they do that.
A
even though they would make good profit, they would have to split the money into 3.
H
Ugh remember there's a IF in the title, i don't think reality is involved here. This is what i think all hail, NINTENMICONY?

Nah... All hail Micronydo. :P
H
LOL it kinda sounds like Macaroni. xD
L
well, it would ALMOST kill the industry. one Nincrony gets enough complaint mail they will release a new smash bros. it will include all the characters they can think of, even invented ones and it would have everything that the gamers want, beacause they would encourage idea emails. then the cycle will repeat, but more slowly.

You'd end up with a:Huge (Xbox)
Overpriced (Playstation)
console with
No games aimed at an adult audience (Wii)

We could just as easily end up with a tiny (a lá Wii), cheap (a lá 360) console with a massive array of games aimed at everyone (a lá PS3). I mean, we'd get an Xbox Live service with both the Virtual Console ('cept that, now, it covers every console before this gen) and all the awesome games on PSN... We'd get both traditional and motion sensing controllers, alongside brutally awesome graphical capabilities.
A
I doubt they would keep to their design aspects being merged.

or we would end up with a High end system (PS3) with high fail rate (360) with a crappy controller (wii), and it would be call Play 360 Wee
M
it could be socrodo and a console called we play 360= ]
N
The console would suck, there would be no competition so there would be know need to improve.
F
That will be the dark- age for gamers.Maybe.
D
Only, and I mean ONLY, if they rereleased the Virtual Boy in HD with a huge library of games would I accept it.
