The reason I ask is because I'm at that age where I'm supposed to be looking for cars.
I'm obviously going to have to buy a second hand car. Thing is I really really love old school cars from the 1970-1987's. The only problem with those cars is that they are expensive to fix and a lot of them will need some TLC when I buy them.
So my best bet is to buy a car that is quite common on the road (because those will be cheap to service).
BUT ALL THAT IS IRRELEVANT!

A 1987 Golf GTi (Mk2)
This was also the first Mark 2 of it's kind to come out if I am not mistaken.
He spent a few years making it look nice, but then the wheels and gauges were stolen. (Yes even the gauges)
So he kinda had to start over.
It looks a lot like this except it's grey and doesn't have the red outline on the grill. To be honest though the one in the pictures looks a bit better.

Unfortunately I don't have it anymore, jap imports are very very expensive to insure, even with 14 years no claims and a clean licence :(
So now I drive a rover 216 GSi.

I remember driving those on Gran Turismo 1 and 2.

Yes mine was a type RA too, made to rally, came with a rollcage, short ratio box etc.
