What are the things needed to put in my R4i-gold.eu 3ds?

I recently bought a 3ds red (the slim one) and an r4i gold from my friend in the sticker it says r4i-gold.eu/
and it has an icon of metroid prime i try a lot of that "r4 wood stuff" and nothing happenedi just wanna ask what are the things that i needed to use my r4 with a 2gb mem card?
everytime i start my r4 it becomes black and it says that i needed to turn off my 3ds because of some problems

You basically need 2 things in general to play;

[*]The kernel (firmware) from the flash cartridge's official website meant for that particular cartridge. The kernel usually is made up of several files, e.g. _dsmenu.dat, _system_ folder, etc. Each R4 may have different number of kernel related files and might even use different naming.
