Vocal lag on Singstar PS3

I have never noticed before, but we have recently moved the PS3 and it is connected up to different TV (Sony Bravia) and has a cinema system attached to it.There is a significant time delay from you singing into the mic and your voice coming out the speakers. I have googled the problem and it seems to be a common thing.Is there any settings I can adjust? I read on another forum about callibrating the mics, but can't find such an option.Can anyone help or am I stuck with this problem?I am using Wired mics btw.

Calibrating the microphone is on the Options section of the game, I did it for my sister when she got it.
