For Windows Vista and Windows 7 users who use VisualBoyAdvance as your GBA emulator
When the status message(Such as loaded battery, Wrote state 1, etc.,) appears at the bottom-left of the emulator, it can change into Windows Vista Basic/Windows 7 Basic, which says:
The color scheme has been changed to Windows 7 Basic
A running program isn't compatible with certain visual elements of Windows.
Click here for more information. If you're annoyed, you can do the following:
1) Open Options from the menu bar.
2) Select Emulator
3) Check the "Disable status messages"So, it's done!Yes, this doesn't happen in Windows 8/8.1 because there's no more basic theme.

An even better solution to this is to STOP USING teh older builds of VisualBoyAdvance (both 1.7.2 and 1.8 Beta 3) and switch to VBA-M which is very much actively being developed.http://vba-m.com/You need to register an account on there yes but the emulator is hosted free of charge.I tell you somebody should put up a sticky reminding people about this.
