VIRUS!

So far the only virus I knew that causes 'ghost' in the machines are Trojans.Your disc slot kept ejecting.Your computer got controlled by its own.Well... All this because of the Trojan host playing around with the infected client.The CIH virus destroys like 40% of your computer.It overwrites the first 2,048 sectors (1,048,576 bytes) of all of the system's available non-removable writable disk drives!But fortunately,it only infects older OSs(95.98,ME,2000)If you're running on Vista,Ubuntu,Mac you don't have to worry about this virus.

I imagine that it doesn't affect XP either since XP blocks low level hard disk access.

Well thankfully something like that doesn't exist nowadays, because if something like that did exist, I'd be on the lynch mob who'll hunt down the arse who makes it. Seriously, why the hell do people make these things, if it were for revenge fine, but don't include innocent bystanders, freakin God! :P

if its adware/spyware then they can get money but something like that is just for kicks, also i hered some ware some viruses can put illegal things on your computer and distributed them form your computer as well (e.x explicit pictures of minors, email scams, ect)

A friend of mine got hit by something that replaced every button & Label on his web browser with n0rp related stuff, like words such as ass, boobs etcetera & icons like penises for the forward & back buttons. Quite frankly I think it was a skin or theme & he's just making excuses.

A trojan is enough to do all the above.If the host wants to destroy your computer,he/she just need to delete the root files.Want to play around with you,popups/computer 'moving' by its own.Every keystrokes are logged and can be viewed by the host.This lead to hacking of e-mails,accounts and etc.On worst case your banking profile got hacked.Fortunately a Trojan host can only start to do all this when you're online.So when you're removing them,plug out your network cable,scan,delete.If it is a weak trojan,it'll be removed but some 'strong' trojans have scripts that disable/malfunction anti-virus programs.When this happens.You gotta use hijackThis.Why people create virus/trojans/adware/spyware???Revenge,Fun,Jealousy,Coincidental,Accidental,In need for money
