Video Capture

What is the best way to capture videos from sites other than Youtube? Like My Space or record company sites that offer artist music videos etc. I know for Mozilla there is a great video downloader app but seeing as my Mozilla doesn't download properly I am using Opera and the Opera widgets are useless with sites other than Youtube. I have also tried www.keepvid.com but it only works with Youtube. Any suggestions?

There is Tubehunter, google it except it isn't freeware.

The free version only takes a few seconds of video, that is it used to take only a few seconds of video last time I got it.

you are right. The free version only captures 30 seconds of video. Any other suggestions?

Try Zamzar grimsim, not exactly brilliant quality but it does the trick

Yes, it's a great application, I've got Tubehunter Ultra, but yes, it isn't free. It supports downloading from 100s of videosites, including a few XXX sites.

try real player and download helper firefox addon, with download helper you can download and convert videos

I use the YouTube Downloader, its a freeware and it also includes a converter, very convenient to use... :) :) :)

YouTube Downloader is only good for capturing Youtube videos but if you go to "other" places it's totally worthless.By the way grim, what applet did you find, answer only if it's a legit applet ok?

More on keepvid, use the bookmarklet! It's much more easier. I have not found a better cross-platform way to download from youtube.

Yes, hehehehe downloadhelper is a good add-on for firefox because it can capture any streaming media from the internet.... and you can use it on XXX sites, hehehehehe

If you mean something like a screen recorder, why not try "Camstudio". Its completely free, I'm not really recommending it, just a suggestion. Hope that helps.Link: http://camstudio.org/
