Users Online Info Messed Up?

Seph/Loony,Just for your info, since I think you guys probably already aware with this problem ever since the server move;Last night I saw multiple "Loonylion" in that box too. Don't know if it will have any impact on anything around here. But since the move, this been showing. At most time, I'd be seeing no one is online. Not even myself counted in the counter. Probably need to check the script or reset something; I'm not sure, but you guys knows best what to do from the admin menu portion at the top screen.

Yes it's an SMF issue most likely caused by upgrading our mysql server to version 5.6. It's not affecting anything other than the visual indication of who and how many are online so it's not something I'm spending a lot of time on just yet.

Ok. But I still think there's something that could be done to solve this issue even though it's not interfering with anything. Probably to do with 'track daily statistics' and ' index.template.php' or something.

no its a change in how mysql handles date calculations. SMF doesn't cope with the new mysql yet. We have more important things to work on.

I see. Ok then, let's hope SMF get updated soon in order to solve this issue.

SMF is kinda focused on their brand new version. It's going to be quite a while before anything new is out that's not a security update. I will eventually be working on this myself and then properly send the patch upstream to SMF.

Been 6 months and seems like SMF hasn't address to this problem. Don't know if it messes with the users online counter or not. :-\

Well, 2.0.8 is out. Not sure if it'll fix the issue, but it might.

Now this one is absolutely freaking WEIRD!5 members going by very similar usernames online at same time?! and goes offline at nearly same time (seconds apart)?!

I'm thinking all 5 could be trace back to the same IP.

First one was okay, the other ones matched though so I took care of that problem.

Ok. Thanks Reider for looking into it. Was looking at the Info Center earlier, and it just caught my attention. Just thought I should bring this to attention. 2 similarly named usernames going online and offline at almost same time is common, but 5 is statistically improbable.

I too have been seeing 2 similarly named users online for sometime now, but I never reported it, never bothered to report it. :-\But you did, so Nice work Prectorian! ;D
