The chicken thing does sound eccentric. Maybe it's a cooking technique? I also see suspended chickens and ducks in Chinese restaurants, but those are cooked already :/But preparing meals for his dog and making sure that it's comfortable doesn't sound so strange. Food critics like Jeffrey Steingarten have asked French chefs to whip up meals for his dog. If I were a dog, I wouldn't want to eat dog food every day.
