LoonylionYou obviously haven't listened to much metal then. groups like Dream Theater write such profound and complex lyrics that no-one understands them completely. Try listening to 'metropolis pt. 2: scenes from a memory' and 'six degrees of inner turbulence' and you will realise how foolish your generalisation about metal is.

equitypetey · #47but time has past and they brought in new(nu) metal a scary evil little gremlin thing with its screaming and sub genres and progressive riffs and it frightend all the metalheads who still to this day haven't been able to handle it and are stuck in a time warp.
anyway the new metal is now metal and metal that was is now old school cheese.don't get me wrong i used to listen to the old stuff and every thing people have listed but i got so fed up with it, it was so boring and cheesey and i can't listen to it without laughing.

False MetalSuch a name that has been put forth to the standards and sub genres of metal for many years and plenty more to come, the ideals of such a view on particular kinds of metal is a highly debated topic on what is really false or not.The main arguing points is that they simply don't have the heart or play for the love of the music on the whole and one of the main enemies of metal commercialism and how in which way bands should approach such.Bands that are forced to be made commercial simply by their massive popularity are okay due to they can not stop such an action from happening, though on the other hand a band that goes straight for commercialism are not a true metal band to be honest and do not have the same passion for the music as others do and obviously feel insecure about their capabilities of playing their instruments and advertising is seemed necessary rather then just becoming a well known band for their ability to play their instruments.Furthermore just cause a vocalist screams or roars at the top of their lungs does not make them any more metal then any other singers and simply their just trying to hard. Of course we like a bit of grunt in our metal occasionally but its just not always needed or is simply done within the right context of the music and as I quoted before their just trying to hard.There is also such genres of metal that are quite clearly labeled as false metal and I'm not one to disagree, these genres mainly are metalcore, grindcore and emo cross. These genres on repeated attempts do not have the true metal feeling or even have any skill with their main aim of thrash bash and roaring words that are not understandable and all their guitars are played on distortion to hide the fact they can't play for shit. Also this stupid emo over cross over rubbish that is so badly played and the singer makes an attempt to sound cool by screaming really loudly, how about such bands take their crap and go back to what you were playing before because metal does not want you in its club so bugger off.
In reality though I'm not saying don't listen to such music because in the end its all up to point of view and preference in my opinion, the simple sad fact is that they are not true to the heart of metal and will never achieve such a honour amongst true listeners and gods of metal and hopefully it will stay that way for the future history of heavy metal and that future listeners are not tricked into its evil false meaning and ways. And as the old saying goes "Death to false metal".
