the DS games crap has to stop
A
lugia543that's the word I'm looking for. Shovelware. What happened to the good ol' days when the DS was focused more on teens than 7 year old kids?
yeah those games are for kids... don't blame romulation they do what they can... is no one fault that those kids were releases these days... wait for the good ones on the following months.
L
LuckyTrouble77Actually on topic:I completely agree with Seph with the fact that it is not RomU's fault if you don't like a game, as others potentially do. I personally think those games will kill the DS (even worse than it is getting to) if they keep releasing fifteen "Look, ANOTHER PET GAME!!!" every single month. It is obvious that no true production time goes into these, and they just take the base code from game to game and mod it to make it seem like a new game, regardless of the fact that it is the same game that has been dumped 200 times before under a different title.RomU gets a very solid number of roms, not gonna be absolutely everything, but it is definitely the bulk. They can't control the development teams for Nintendo looking to make a quick buck on a two day game. I would appreciate it if a new solid FF-esque RPG would come out for the DS, or a FPS that didn't suck (I'm looking at you MW2 for DS :/ ), but that just isn't where the interest seems to be sitting anymore. Golden Sun DS will be (hopefully) the most notable RPG released for the DS in a long while that didn't include Pokemon. Shin Megami Tensei may be popular to a certain degree, but I honestly didn't hear much about it before joining this site and have issues getting enthralled with the game play.Nintendo as a whole basically needs to control what they let through the pipes, and need to stop releasing so many kid games. They obviously aren't wholesome, are only going to appeal to very young kids, mostly female from the looks of the games being released, and just aren't going to keep the DS on track. If they want to get DS game sales up, maybe they should consider creating games that balance the DS player base vs all the garbage they've been letting out.The touch screen is being basically abused too. Basically, "here, use your stylus to pet your 500th dog and your 75th horse, maybe your 149th cat too!"
That second screen was supposed to introduce new ways to play games and enjoy them, not for the sole purpose of releasing another pet game.In short, Nintendo needs to control their third party developers and get the DS back on track. As soon as they changed how they were advertising it about two years ago, quality games that the masses can enjoy have been few and far in between. I can still enjoy games I missed, but those will eventually run out, and a game with replay value can only have so much of it.
you expressed my anger over nintendo's pet games in many ways I could not explain. The ds is capable of many great titles but nintendo thinks it like shit and releases 2 hour long games

I'm pretty sure Nintendo just licenses most of the pet games and not shoves it down the throats of innocent gamers...

MessoMesso's right; Nintendo just hands out licenses to paying developers. They are not directly responsible for the content or quality of the games that are published for their platforms. I assume there's a nominal "does it work and not crash?" quality assurance, but it's most likely expedited to ensure games don't get held up in a phase that should've been done by the developer and publisher in the first place. If Nintendo didn't develop or publish it, they are not responsible for it. Do you blame Sony for the crappy games that appeared on the PS2 or 3? Of course not; they just licensed the games. Get your head out of your ass, kid.

So you are saying that Pokemon is a good game? The only Pokemon i can still play is Pokemon Blue and i even own the cartridge ;)

msghomemaintenancei dont see why anyone should bother for you then
[font=comic sans ms]How do you think the SCENE feels about these kind of noobs?
Stanley RichardsSoul Calibur for the DS will never happen. Playing a fighting game with the DS's D-pad would be a nightmare.
[font=comic sans ms]And yet people played arcade games like Killer Instinct on a D-Pad when it hit SNES just fine, it might not be that far off for all we know.
lugia543everything I know that is good
[font=comic sans ms]You must not know many games, then :\
MessoMessoDr. DRM(xelados) answered that)

Hai, Dr. DRM (or should it be Dr. ANTI-DRM?):P
As for RomU 'not putting out', who do you think supplies the roms that RomU puts up for ungrateful kids like you? The SCENE, the ROM SCENE that hides in ur innernets, poised and ready to stricke...or take a vacation, as most NORMAL human beings do. Though, I think they could've said "Gone to visit Iceland(vacation!)".
YES, there's shovelware, YES, most of it's not good, YES, it sucks, NO it's never going to stop, not unless people WISE UP AND STOP BUYING GARBAGE 'GAMES'!
...long quote-fest is long.

This is a service that beifits all ds users, not just yourself. If you dont like the game then move on, or better yet dont cloud up the forums with useless complaining. It's more of a common sense issue than anything else. For example if you a guy then don't download Hello Kitty roms, find what interest you and be done with it.
A
Erm...sorry to ask but, what does that four letter word mean? o.O
A
Ya know you can always grab other gaming systems.DS isn't exactly the only one on the market.
K
If you don't like a game, don't download it.
