I HATE switching from Daylight Savings to Standard time!I mean... you go to sleep later, and you wake up earlier. It screwed up my internal clock today and I nearly fell asleep during a test...

That is why they do it during the weekend, so you have time to adjust.Seriously though, I just stay up that one hour later and end up getting up at the right time the next day anyway.

It drains my adrenaline, I failed a run in PE...
Back when my asthma was bad I would do that... but WTF!!!Messes up my internal clock...
It would be like... "Time for bed..."
"But Mike, it's only 9:30..."
"Holy Crap!"

The point of day light's savings back in the times it was originally concieved was to save money on candles (yeah that long..)But I like day light's saving-especially when I'm working and an extra hour is given-and obviously when it's quiet :)I normally don't work when it's taking back the hour so...good luck I guess XD

Takes me a bit to adjust, seems like the day drags on longer when we change times in the fall, and flies by in the spring.

Candles? Not that long ago inthe US at least. Not counting that one year back in 1918 or so, It was due to the energy conservation during WWII.

During his time as an American envoy to France, Benjamin Franklin, author of the proverb, "Early to bed, and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise", anonymously published a letter suggesting that Parisians economize on candles by rising earlier to use morning sunlight.[16] This 1784 satire proposed taxing shutters, rationing candles, and waking the public by ringing church bells and firing cannons at sunrise.[17] Franklin did not propose DST; like ancient Rome, 18th-century Europe did not keep precise schedules. However, this soon changed as rail and communication networks came to require a standardization of time unknown in Franklin's day
Apparently it goes back further than this..

As far as information goes, how about not citing Wikipedia (as the content is user-based), and instead use official sources? I'd like to present Encyclopedia Britannica in place of it, which presents the same info.I, myself find Daylight Savings Time to be completely unnecessary as its purpose was to address and resolve certain problems that occurred in the past as pointed out by Britannica. As of right now, people supporting the concept of Daylight Savings Time are using false unrepresentative data to back it up. Not to mention most of the problems we have faced back then, which was resolved by DST, no longer bother us as of today (with some of them thanks to modern technology.)Also, one inconsistency regarding DST is that many countries (or parts of the country) do not observe DST at all. Looking at the US map, a part of Arizona as well as Hawaii do not follow DST. Some industrialized nations, such as Japan and China, also don't follow DST. There is also no clear geographical correlation as to why DST is needed thanks to holes presented in the world map.

I'm aware that it's user based content, however my enclyclopedias were made before I was born, worn, and further more just dam hard to find, but what I did post was something I did read in my old enclopedia's years ago...I found that interesting enough to actually remember it, but not enough to remember exact details-and my one's aren't anything fancy-parent's got them off a peddler in the phillpopines :(ANYWAY...I suppose we could just ditch it these days, sure I get an extra hour of pay because out of dumb luck I work the day (during the change over...) and skip out when it's being fixed. But it is otherwise not needed.
