Indeed tuneup is a great little peice of software, repairs and cleans your PC.Including the registry, it's the only thing that touches my windows boxes, that and NOD32 :)

I use ccleaner (crap cleaner) because it removes all history and temp files all at once from all your browsers.I suggest you do not clean the registry because it can wreck your computer. =]

No it doesn't, it removes any registry items that do not link to any program or anything that would be used by the task manager (basically waste items)I help write programs, we're actually working on a cross platform alternative to Xchat / mIRC / etcAnd I've always used it without ever 'wrecking' any of my windows laptops

only if you don't use a decent program or you try to do it manually without knowing what you're doing. I've never had any problems.

Programs like CCleaner even make backups of your registry and can restore them in the unlikely chance anything went wrong.
