Speeding up Emulation

I have an older laptop (pentium 3)
and the emulation goes painfully slow
I have set the emulation to the fastest I think I can make it
but still it crawls like a snail
anyway to speed it up that i'm unaware of?
Thanks

Disable sound, emulation speed: CPU disaster and lower video output. Besides that, not really.

ya i had all that done except the video output
how do you change that?

Are you possibly playing the game at a higher resolution? And what exactly are you trying to emulate? A PSX ISO, a GBA game, maybe an NDS title? We need more specifics to give you an actual solution.

an NDS title

no nds can be slowed down by using no$gba and for gba use visual boy advance and either toggle up the frame speed or hold spacebar while playing

Well, it has been a year and a half...I'm pretty sure he still isn't waiting for an answer :P

The only suggestion is to get a faster computer. But, then again, he may have already done that.
