There has been nothing in the several years we have been running RomUlation, if they ever tell us to remove the content then we will of course, I'm not going to jail for you guys. :) (we won't give out download data of course)At the moment we don't see it as a highly likely chance, it's a bit worse with Sony, which is also why we don't have very many PSP ISOs.

Lik Sang is one factor yes, then there's their aggressiveness towards homebrew authors and custom firmware, we don't really want part of their attention considering that we don't really stand a chance should they get angry.

Those that want these sort of things know that they are illegal that's why we keep quiet about these thing if you are gonna question these thing maybe you shouldn't be here and maybe you should act as if you never knew this site existed. I'm just sayin that the people that want these thing love their gaming and are willing to keep this sort of thing underground. It's not like every drug dealer makes it known they deal in drugs, get it?

ya we shoudl really keep as low profile as possible......thats why i didnt told anyone on the net where i get my rom XD
Seph

Really, keeping a low profile is too late, we already have a minimum of 15k visits/day. Our connection can handle much more and so can our servers, so the only way for us to expand right now is to get even more visitors, so there's no point in not telling your friends about it.

calvin_0:It would depend. Its almost certaintly illegal in most contries to download the roms for snes, nds games etc. But the copyright on some of the older the roms on romulation e.g. Acord Archimedies roms may have ran out now, so they should then be public domain and freely distributable. But another way I look at it in terms of morals is, can I buy games for the Lynx, easily? no, can I buy games for the Neogeo Pocket easily now? no. If I cannot buy a game or console in the shops anymore then it is fair game to me. If the games are no longer in print or sold in the UK, then in my mind the copyright has ended (I know not really, but to me it has so I have no problems downloading them).

copyright persists for30 or 70 (cant remember which) years from the death of the last surviving holder.

They also have fluffy cufs for chibi... :PBtw, doesn't this mean you have to delete your IP logs and whipe your ram thouroughly every x minutes? Oh, and ban the country that first tries to sue you?
Seph
#16
Sony isn't a country...But really... access logs are deleted every 3 hours after having been analysed for our stats (which doesn't log what specific IP's does), and whipe our RAM? Are you crazy it's already working extra hours to keep up. :P

RomUlation should do what the Pirate Bay wanted to:
1. Buy your own island.
2. Declare it a country.
3. Abolish copyright laws.
4. Have people make donations to become citizensI'm not exactly sure how the legalities of it all works out, but they thought it could so I don't think that it's impossible. Apart from the fact RomUlation probably doesn't have multi-millions in spare change to throw away :P

Romulation is a loss-making site; we dont even have pennies in spare change. :( Donations are greatfully accepted, though ;)

We're not really loss making per se, we just haven't had the money paid out yet, once they do they'll have recovered the costs of the last couple of months though. (net-60 is annoying :P)
