Simultaneous downloads?

I had a question about downloading a few things simultaneously. I know you need to be a premium member to get simultaneous downloads, but I'm a normal member and I noticed I can get 2 at once if I download one from the North American Server and one from the European server. Is this allowed? I was taking advantage of this, but I just wanted to make sure I'm not breaking any site rules. Thanks.

Yes, it can happen that way. I don't think it is a rule violation, but Seph will be the final word on that. I have done it before.It still costs the correct amount of points, so I don't think any harm is being done. The reason it happens is because the servers don't tell each other who is downloading from one or the other.

Meh, I could say it's a rule violation but I can't do anything about it right now. We're working on technology to easily restrict across several servers but it's not all that easy to do, so while I could say that it's bad it's not like anyone would listen.

Why would it be a rule violation-I didn't even know myself, not that I tried it thanks to my oddgy connection...(at home at least :) ).When you put that in place...could you let us know so to reduce the amount of people asking "why can't I download 2 things at once" ?Back to forum surfing...

The site intro already says you can only have 1 download at a time :)

Because we have a speed limit on downloading, that works on a per-connection basis, so if we didn't limit connections to 1 people could bypass the limit by simply opening up 8 connections. We prevent that by limiting it to 1, sadly, right now that works on a per-server basis so two downloads are actually possible. (locked to the specified speed, though)
