Russia declares war Georgia

8 august 2008, right at the start of the Olympic Games of Beijing.
Russia start an invasion in Georgia.
Could this be the start of WWIII?
Russia has been bombing Georgia all day long.
I hope the war ends soon...

Georgia is calling for a ceasefire... sigh, I don't know why CNN is covering babies born on 08/08/08 when a fucking war just broke out. Anyways, Bush was an idiot for starting a war now that we have better ways of solving problems, this is another case of stupidity... Georgia shot down two Russian aircraft vehicles to start, but this is still irrational of Russia right now.

No... allegedly Georgia shot down two Russian aircraft. Regardless, Georgia were trying to annexe a country that borders them and has had uneasy relations with Georgia for a long time. Russia had a good relationship with that country and overreacted.Either way it might be over soon, as Georgian troops have withdrawn.

it's over already, they've agreed a ceasefire, although Georgia is still being belligerent.
