RPCS3 Is A New PS3 Emulator, Still In Early Stage, Boots Commercial Game
- MARCH 7, 2014RPCS3 Official WebsiteSource: RPCS3 - PS3 Emulator RPCS3 - Wikipedia
We know that a lot of you want to get your hands on a PS3 emulator. Well, that day may come sooner than expected, as a team of developers is currently working on a PS3 emulator that is able to boot a commercial game. In the realm of emulation land, this is huge. Yes, this is laggy and buggy but the fact that an emulator can boot a commercial PS3 game is HUGE. The name of the emulator is RPCS3 and you can view two videos from it running a commercial game below. Enjoy!

You're joking.
Wow. That's impressive....I'd be interested into seeing the requirements to boot an ISO.
GTX Titan in SLI maybe?

Playing PS3 emulator may requires more super computer mode! ;)
Visit NGEMU website for information about this.

See the first post, it says they were able to succesfully emulate commercial roms.
Proves ps3 can be almost perfectly emulated, maybe not with the current hardware, but for sure in the near future.

But what future hardware?
Commercial hardware will never be designed for emulating games and stuff.

In the 2000's when Playstation 2 was released it was impossible to emulate it, 'back then' .
Now, 14 yrs later, there are systems that can run almost all ps2 games at full speed at 1080p.The same would be the case with the ps3 in the next 10-15 years ( atleast i hope ::) )

That seems are bit too long, considering the way technology is advancing at today's rate.
Possibly 5 years I'd say.

the PS3 is also many times more complicated than the PS2, and the rate of technology advancement is actually slowing down (in terms of processing power).

Yes I've come across this too earlier.
Seems a lot of Programmers have been very active. There has been a lot of New Emulator Projects lately.

PS4 wont be difficult to emulate and its questionable whether there's any point. It's PC hardware.

So u mean stuff like its CPU Architecture are similar to that of a computers?
But even if making an Emulator is not too difficult, wouldn't the requirement to run an Emulated game be very VERY High?! A super power full CPU & GPU.

it's identical to a PC, its an AMD APU. Hence an emulator wouldn't be necessary, it would be possible to run the games natively.

First Dolphin Dropped 32-bit support,https://dolphin-emu.org/blog/2014/05/19/obituary-32bit/and now RPCS3 too drops 32-bit support,https://github.com/DHrpcs3/rpcs3/issues/261#issuecomment-45116602
As mentioned in issue #148, there are a multitude of reasons 32-bit systems shouldn't be supported. Dolphin, an emulator for a much less powerful system than a PS3, recently dropped support 32-bit support as 32-bit processors simply aren't powerful enough.Another reason to drop 32-bit is that writing two sets of code, one to take advantage of all of x86_64's features, and another to barely work on 32-bit machines, takes a lot of effort for very little value. Dropping support for it early on means a lot less pain in the long run.

RIP.... 32 bit.... :'(
And now, everyone uses 64 bit right now, before the beginning of 128 bit coming soon!
