Sorry for being a little late on my follow up to all your comments.
tehuber1337 · #4This is a joke, right? Or at the very least, a comparison for the sake of exaggeration.
Not at all, most posts on RomU have little value to the reader, however those posts are fun, and it is great that this weird world on RomU exists where people can mess about and at the same time in other sections of the forum people can produce very well informed opinions on various topics from the sublime to the inane, with a healthy dose of the insane. I love your posts tehuber as you are brutal and cutting, but never unfair.
Natewlie · #5He said that because you and I make the community so much better.
Natewlie you do make the community better because you are so feckin well informed on the subjects you post.
There are not shed loads of people who regularly post on RomU's forums who I rate as great posters with interesting things to say, but I will say with total conviction that RomU hosts some of the best non-industry comments on gaming(few and far between they may be) and also provides a unique platform for those inclined to compile some of the best impersonal lists of forthcoming games, RomU does all this and has a lively debate section to boot. This is not only admirable but quite unique.

Suiseiseki, RomU does not exist in isolation, personally it does not matter to me one iota if RomU does or does not host DSi dumps and I have no desire to see some bizarre user revolution overtaking the amazing job that Seph, Loony, Patton and.........do.
So, back to my original moan...
I brought up two issues:
Firstly that the posting of new DS game has slowed in the past 6 months or so; a tad unfair of me and 6 months was more or less pulled out of my ass but a basic Usenet account alt.binblah.blah, blah blah tells me that RomU is slower in posting new DS roms, you may say so what? My open alt.binblahs.blahblahblah are not Seph's secret scene source, the one he will not even entrust Loony a password to.
To hell with democracy there is business to be done but when I look at some of the Usenet postings and the time stamp on them I wonder why the heck access to those scene and non-scene releases are not more available to those who regularly post sensibly(unlike myself) and take an ongoing and genuine interest in the fresh DS scene?
Secondly that DS enhanced(DSi) games should have been included on RomU as soon as the core game could be emulated or ran by flash cards. As Loony pointed out RomU has a massive unique hit count, I would imagine that many newspapers would drool at the thought of such numbers. I would not doubt that RomU's unique hit count will continue to rise, and I am under no illusion that such impressive figures can attract impressive revenue.
On the surface it may seem a little silly of me to suggest that not hosting the DSi enhanced games will lead to a lack of influence for RomU and ultimately a mass exodus from RomU. I should have made it clear that the mass exodus and 'be dead by March' statements purely relate to the bit of RomU that does not make any money and that's the hosting of games. I will not deny that RomU provides excellent bandwidth and superb Rom hosting, even to serfs like myself. RomU has an excellent back catalog of Roms but as RomU has taken the unusual step of hosting games in a very live system, the NDS, it is odd that a policy was decided not to continue to host DS games which have a DS(enhanced)i part to them. A point of reference is to consider that some games hosted on RomU will not native run on any given emulator
As time goes on these DS enhanced or DSi games will become more prevalent, even though as most who have been following the evolution of the DS care little for the enhanced(i) aspects and just want to play the game regardless of, for example camera based personalisation. I do understand why a collector of pure Roms would not want to see the current playable dumps of DS enhanced(i) games.
I thought RomU was about trying things out before you pay or getting a chance to play some odd game you never would have a chance to access?
I figure DS(enhanced)i games fit that idea well.
There is no question that RomU is loosing downloads to other sites that host these mutant DS games and I have no doubt that currently very few people care too much but, when your back catalogue of playable emulative games looks like swiss cheese to the casual observer then you may have a problem.
There are a hell of a lot DS enhanced games releasing during February through to end of March. Many of them may not be overly exciting titles for the informed DS user but for every working DS enhanced title RomU does not host there will be a Mom or Dad out there who will find another source for that Princess Dick-Wad game that few care for but that's one or two users that will multiply and multiply as RomU's playable DS catalogue shrinks.
@Loonylion, I did not make a personal attack against Seph, I said I thought his decision was wrong, if pressed I honestly would find it difficult to personally attack him. I think I would have to know the guy before I even attempted to do that, but to appease your senses I will say that due to your revelation that he does not trust even you with his masonic Rom source he is at least a megalomanic lion humping queen.
