Reputations: Is it THAT important??
U
reputation also represents the person who you are.
peoples representation of you becomes reflective to you.
D
rep is never about who you are
its about what people think!
T
What people think of you influences who you are, too.

I agree.
What people think of you is what created you today....i think..
D
no what you think of yourself is what makes you who you are

-The environment also affects your growth, development and maturation in life.
EDIT: Should have quoted. GTG :D
D
how does that pertain to this
T
There are important reputations, and then there are unimportant ones.Your high school reputation is, in the grand scheme of things, largely unimportant. So you were a geek, or a jock, or you slept around a lot, or were a prude, in the end, it doesn't really matter. But once you get out in the real world, a reputation you build for yourself is important. Hard worker, trustworthy, or are you lazy, scam people, cheat, etc? Without a reputation it's hard to find good work if you are a contractor. Like me, I'm an controls engineer. I work for a company where I build and program industrial machinery. But if I worked for myself, a reputation would be important, who is going to hire someone to do such important, multi-million dollar work if they have no reputation, or even worse, a bad reputation (slow, poor quality work, etc).
D
you are partially right
R
reputations are important in outside life, but not online (except when games and ideas are involved)
D
Rep. is not important at all!

Cahos Rahne VelozaSo here I am again with another one of my long, unbearable for some, topic introductions, so sucks to you, lol!!Anyway for those of you still in high-school or is about to enter high school, what do you feel about the value of "status" in your life. I'm going to confine this topic on the high school setting as there are a lot of you who are probably still or are about to be on that level. This doesn't mean that old people as myself, aherm..., are not allowed to share our opinions as I'm going to make this an open discussion, not in a debating manner if possible, more like one of those counseling sessions if you may.So onto the topic, is having a "rep" really that important?? Is it really ok to be labelled as the rich kid, the popular girl, the jock, the rebel, the nerd, the geek & so forth?? Don't you feel kinda "boxed in" when people label you as this & that limiting what you may or may not be??
Reputation as you define it, is meaningless.
Reputation by classic definition is important.
I don't care if you are the goth the rich kid or the nerd. What I care about is if you are the liar(L), the fecker(F) or the c*nt(C). Unless you are one of them you have no hope. You can be a really good person and be honestly nice while being LFC. A good rep means an understanding of time and place, nothing more.
D
well i still say reputation is not important
T
But you are only 16, so you don't know what a reputation really is :) You just know about high school cliques.
D
:O how do you know my age?? are you spying on me?
well my reputation is bad and i dont care..... im always the emo one, the gloomy one... and stuff like that
T
Your age is in your profile, assuming the year of birth given when you register is true, which I'd say most of the time people put the correct year down at least.(unless it's a porn site, then they put over 18 even if they aren't).
D
lol so why are you on my profile?? you are spying?? ahhhhhhhhhh!!!
B
Looking for a job in the near future will be hard so...

Good, you are a young guy, you should feel like that. If I may be so bold to suggest that you can take my previous post as something to think about. There is nothing criminal in my idea, but I assume you would agree there is nothing idealistic in it either.

well i'm 17 and i have a job, i tried to upgrade from working at an icecream shop (blueseal) to working at a resturaunt (vikings try! seriously that's the name) they took a look at my resume and said "no, youre not ready for the service, your 3-4 people meeting job is not like this, there is more chaos that need to be handled" so i'm stuck with icecreamville. i'll try to go to college and get a desk job, eat at that place and tell the manager to stick it.job rep: important for financial security
