Registry Compactors

After recently discovering that registry cleaners do nearly nothing to speed up your system but instead potentially remove needed registries, I've turned my head to Compactors. Can someone tell me the best free Registry Compactor out there? I've been thinking of http://www.larshederer.homepage.t-online.de/erunt/

dont. Registry cleaning is safe if you use a decent cleaner, registry compacting is not.Registry cleaning can speed up your system but only if your registry has tens of thousands of unneeded keys.

I’d go a step further: Don’t run registry cleaner programs, period. I won’t go so far as to call them snake oil, but what possible performance benefits can you get from “cleaning up” unneeded registry entries and eliminating a few stray DLL files? Even in the best-case scenario the impact should be trivial at best. Maybe a second or two here and there, maybe a few kilobytes of freed-up RAM, and I’m being generous. How can you balance those against the risk that the utility will “clean” (in other words, delete) something you really need, causing a program or feature to fail?If anyone has done any serious performance testing on this class of software, I’d be interested in seeing it. In the absence of really rigorous testing and fail-safe design, I say: Stay far away from this sort of utility.
Thats what I read. So, is there any good Registry Cleaner?

jv16 power tools version 1.3 (get it from www.oldversion.com) Its not so much the performance benefits but the potential stability issues that could eventually occur if you dont do it.

Ccleaner is also a good choice I think as I also use it once every month to clean up stuff, especially after those Windows Updates that leave old versions of Registry keys after the update installations.
