why don't you try ninja scroll, watch the movie first and then there was a small series of about 12 to 15 episodes good action and great story lots of blood and gore like an explosion of blood whenever some one gets cut.

like how much?

zero no tsukaima, hayate no gotoku, black lagoon, kanokon, neon genesis evangelion, melancholy, negima and toradora you NEED! to watch

Given your description, I am assuming that you would enjoy Hellsing,Trinity Blood, Darker than Black, and Gai-Rei Zero. Another that is outside of that genre though that I particularly enjoyed was Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex from what I've been able to see so far (lack of time -_-), it also proceeds into a second season as well.If you do not mind super exaggerated physics and the impossibility which is pushed as for so that the anime makes fun of itself (which is a good thing but some people want to complain about it for some reason!) I would also recommend Gurren Lagann. I'm sure there are many others out there but I am somewhat tired as I just woke up and so they have not come to mind. I will probably edit my post later to include those.Have a nice day :)
