This is made for the R4 SDHC.And use Rudolphs patch.

Sorry if someone's already asked this, but does it work with original R4s? Thanks.Also, do I need to put the _DS_MENU.INI and the _DS_MENU.DAT in? Like, is it different to the one I already have?

The kernel doesn't patch it.
You need to first patch it manually, then it will detect the patch, then it will do a compatibility patch.
