Quick question on screenshots

As most emulators still do not support the 'save' feature on roms there is a large potion (i.e. most games) that will not run on any emulator and make screenshots rather hard to obtain, my question is will a good quality photo be sufficient? I find it extremely helpful to have a screenshot for a game before I download it and id like to see more up :)

sorry I think youve misread. I have no problems getting a screenshot, Its getting screenshots for roms that will not run on an emulator on the PC.

the way that i told you to do it isn in the emulator
its in the operating system
you can screen shot at anytime
then paste it in your fave graffic program
paint (since i use ubuntu gimp)

lol once again Please Read! the rom DOES NOT RUN IN THE EMULATOR therefore a screenshot at any level is not possible as there is no image of gameplay to take the screenshot for.

I believe what almo is saying is:he can't get certain roms to even run in an emulator, as such he can't take a screenshot. He would like to take some digital camera shots of it running on actual hardware

give me a complete description
what is the rom running on?
are you gettting it off a computer, tv, or handheld
i will be able to tell you how to on any of those

ok for example this is as far as most DS roms get on any emulator

And FYI ive got every DS emu known and none of them get past that point.
Running emulators on my PC.
on my DS i use an R4, if there is a screenshot capturing program for that, or a DS emu (kinda seems pointless) that will run on it then i guess that would work, but short of that a photo is currently the only way.

OK I'll answer this. If you can take a photo that has the screen(s) filling the frame, and there is no form of glare in the picture, and it is sharp, then it should be acceptable.

I will try tomorrow when Its light as im sure the flash will cause glare, photos will be cropped to only include the two frames, and my camera is top quality so sharpness and clarity will not be a problem.

is that the whole of the screens? it looks somewhat like they are cut off...

they were on a bad angle, and didnt have the time to edit in PS so just used pain, But that is pretty much the full of both screens, Probly wasnt the best game to SS but thats what my partner was playing and she wont let me have the DS back :p

well you'll have to get it back cos we only need 4 SS per game :Pif you can get a better picture than that then show us and I'll give judgement, that particular one isnt good enough.

I find it hard to believe it will be good enough to be accept, so don't be surprised if it isn't.Oh yeah, and here's me playing Ridge Racer. So really, all you have to do is change the save type around manually. :)
