[psp-NEW PROBLEM] game saves corrupted (SOLVED)

This post is solved, read further down for current error.Ok, recently because I tried to use a friends net access point via my psp, I had this scrolling bar go across my screen. It's because his "unprotected" net has counter measures, I'm just glad he disabled the virus XDTo remove the scrolling bar (which scans for anything not inviting to his net) I reformatted my psp 8gb memory stick, and backuped up all content, every last byte. Here is the problem. Some game saves (but not all surprisingly) have went and got "corrupted" despite showing proper icons on the save data emnu on psp, and media go shows nothing unusal.I reformatted the stick to fat 32 as it was before.ALL files have moved without issue, so, any ideas how to recover this data (I was NEARLY finished with some of it).--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NEW ERROR
Ok, now I got ANOTHER problem...Now all past game saves are working...but when I try to watch a reply in gran turismo psp...the game freezes! It was fine until the memory stick indicator light took forever...so I ipened the UMD case and...it went fine for a moment, however trying to make sure I saved this reply...I attempted to save the game over the corrupted one.It wouldn't let me overwrite the file because it was corrupt-so I made another...Now I can't access the replays :(Every time I do...my psp locks up-no memory stick activity.I am at 5.50 GEN-D-2 as of now.And I've re-formatted the stick so...it's not the stick, so I'm also re-flashing the psp to make sure. And I am using the actual UMD to play, not sure but it may help :)

Re: [psp] game saves corrupted?here's what i read from somewhere (I forgot where). Ok so first find a downloadable save off the internet (I prefer gamefaqs) and download it. see whether your game's save data (found inside /PSP/SAVE/ folder) name is that of the downloaded. if not rename it so it is the same name folder. after that, open the downloaded and copy the .png files into your game save data. hope it works.

Re: [psp] game saves corrupted?Did you update to GEN D3? GEN D3 has that bug, downgrade to GEN D2 or lower.Edit: Oh, and you should always format with the PSP option.

Re: [psp] game saves corrupted? The png file is fine...I can see it in the save data utility....and the downloaded save just isn't working ethier :(

But that means the games I also want working might stop.So...does this mean my saves are ok?They just don't want to work?

People have reported the saves work if you downgrade to GEN D2 yes.
Its just a bug with GEN D3, I don't know why it happens lolI think you can just downgrade by using the XGEN GEN D installer and just use the D2 patch.

But does that even work though, what with the "so-called" firmware requirement and all?

Re: [psp-NEW PROBLEM] game saves corrupted (read further down for new error)No one bothered to help so...I worked it out.Again, a bad plugin-cwcheat was enabled! It works on GEN D-3 but not D-2...well it does but replays are blocked out.Remember-plugins aren't always the best :(

Congrats... Glad to see I helped. You probably got the first version of GEN-D3; it corrupts tons of your saves... There is a final version.

I have both backup'd on my external drive..but am not sure if I had D-3 final.I might check another time, I flashed my system that many times...tired :(Just glad it works like before...sure the metal gear demo doesn't work but I can live with that :)
