ps3 firmware 3.30...wasteful?

Trophy sorting?WTF!

The last firmware update I did deleted the Install Other OS option.
If there's a newer one, that just shows you how much I play my PS3...I'm starting to think that mandatory updates are just an attempt to patch ways to hack the system...

Preety much.The one that removed "another os" was 3.21, we are on 3.30 now...Here is the change log.

New or revised features in version 3.30Settings * [Bitstream (Direct)] and [Bitstream (Mix)] have been added as options under [Video Settings] > [BD Audio Output Format (Optical Digital)].
* 3D stereoscopic games are now supported. At the time of the system software release, there are no 3D stereoscopic games available for the PlayStation 3 system. The release of 3D stereoscopic games will be announced at a later date. If the TV in use supports 3D stereoscopic display, the screen from which you can set the TV size will be displayed when adjusting the video output settings. Follow the on-screen instructions to adjust the settings.Game * You can now sort your trophies by the game title or by the date earned.
* Names of trophies that you have not yet earned are now displayed as [Hidden Trophy] instead of [???].

I'd post the link, but the playstation site is regional...don't want US residents getting the aussie firmware XDOnly possible good change is now the trophies that were [???] are now "hidden", and some minor audio changes...Still it's a waste for me.

i hate 3.30 update... it break Dragon Age..... now it freeze every 20 mins...for once i truly hate Sony.3.30 is for sucker who are going to buy bravia 3D.... i wonder what make them think its good idea to force everyone to update thier PS3 for a feature where 99% of us wont be using for a really long time.

They are just trying to find all of the exploits before Geohot finds out how to do more with the PS3.He already got OtherOS onto 3.21 by simply replacing a PUP file.

Here is a video demoing my "custom firmware". It's not any sort of version string change; I would have added something showing off the new features of 3.21, but oh wait, there aren't any.This can be installed without having to open up your PS3, just by restoring a custom generated PUP file, but only from 3.15 or previous. It's possible this CFW will also work on the slim to actually *enable* OtherOS; I'll know when my infectus gets here.No release date yet, use the proxy hack to play online with 3.15Note to the people who removed OtherOS, you are potentially turning 100000+ legit users into "hackers."
