Here are some info of the latest version of PCSX2.
Development of the new 0.9.7 version of the emulator with the all new GUI is going strong and soon all the old GUI functionality will be implemented. After that it's bug hunting time and then a beta release! In this news post I'll present some of the exciting new features of the new GUI builds, for those of you who haven't checked it out yet!
- All new menus, for improved usability and faster configuration
- On the fly suspend and resume, perfectly stable, safe and fast
- On the fly setting switching or even plugin switching
- Compatible with Aero Glass and Windows eye goodies
- Threaded GUI, for better responsiveness, usability and error handling
- Simplified plugin configuration dialog, with more options
- Console output will no longer slow down the emulator when flooded thanks to threading
- Saving states done in the new thread, so gameplay doesn't even flinch when you save
- New CPU configuration, more user friendly and noob proof with a restore defaults button
- New GS configuration, with more options like Turbo and Slow motion FPS adjustments
- New Speed hacks configuration, with more warnings ( like anyone reads them!) and a restore defaults button
- All options have tooltips (text that appears after you leave the cursor on a control for some secs) explaining what each of them do
- Screen shot button in every dialog (lower left corner) to easily take shots of your configurations

I bet this thing needs the latest cutting edge system specs to run PS2 games smoothly though :(

If there is the latest Beta version, I'm sure it can support a pc with average specs.

Actually no, I have low specs and I know people who can play IV and have problems, but its actually the emulators new settings that make it faster seriously my Video NVIDIA GeForce Go5650, Intel Pentium M Processor 2.00 GHz and 2.0GB RAM, but I got to thank my Father he gave me this laptop as gift.

Dude are you saying your laptop have those hardware specs and can play that emulator smoothly and not heat up your laptop? My laptop was heating up like crazy when I played with the previous version.I've got an intel celeron processor with 2.20 GHz and 3 GB of Ram.Will my laptop play that new beta with no issues whatsoever?

I tried to use the last version of the emulator. It didn't work.Processor - Pentium 4 - 2.66 Ghz
RAM - 1GB
Graphics Card - Intel 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics ControllerApparently the graphics card wasn't able to support pixel blending, or mixing or something like that, and it wouldn't run anything. @.@

That is because your graphics chip is integrated. Also you have very little RAM.

I'll check it out when they release it.
I'll use my PS2's bios, SCPH_77006 (slim 2005's console)
My PC can handle it good.
VGA: Nvidia Geforce GTX260 Super Clocked with 216 processors.
Processment: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHZ
HD: 320 GB
RAM: 3GB ATA DDR2
V SOURCE: Satellite SL8600EPS 600 real watts.
O.S. Windows 7 Ultimate (thank you Captain Jack Sparrow).
I guess that this system can run it good.

[quote="m64m"]I tried to use the PCSX2 0.9.6 with Tekken Tag Tournament but the fps was 95% near the actual speed.Processor - Core 2 Quad 2.66 Ghz with 8mb Cache Memory
RAM - 4GB
Graphics Card - nVIDIA Ge Force 9600but my graphics card doesn't support the Pixel Shader 4.0So I choose to change my specs
I am going to buy Intel Core i3 530 with SSE 4.2a and 4 mb Cache Memory 2.6 Ghz.
with Asus Maximus III Formula ROG Motherboard
2 GB DDR3 Ramis it sufficient for GOD of WAR II ?

I'll probably bite the bullet and go for something 64 bits with 6 or more Gb of RAM. Only that way we were able to have GameCube emulators that doesn't stuck on 15 FPs or worse.
