Problem with laptop

why my laptop always restarting when I shut down it??I shut down it from the start menu..any help will appreciated..thanks..

...Are you sure it's the shutdown option?The one that says "shut down"...I always hit the restart option...so I changed how the power button worked, now I press a button and it shuts down as if I hit the shutdown option (and not like the emergency shut off :D)
