[Post-Final Update] Recommended NDS Games by Genre

Well, it's probably the time to make a good list. :D It also makes us easier to recommend games for new members. There may no new NDS games coming out but feel free to suggest titles you think should be recommended. :) I'll also update this list if there's a nicely fan-translated games coming out.Note:
- The "/" indicates the different versions of the same game.
- The number in brackets () are the GameFAQs Rating Average taken from September 2009. The new ones are taken on the day it is added here though.
- Games with (J) or (K) haven't been officially released in English, if they are listed here, it means I think they're playable without understanding of the language or a fan translation is available at GBAtemp's Rom Hacking and Translations forum section. That's why there aren't many great Japanese-only RPGs that are listed here.List of Recommended NDS Games:

Re: Recommended NDS games by genre, sorted by GameFAQs ratingYeah, good job - It`s just a matter of taste, after all. So the Ratings shouldn`t be taken too serious. b-b-b-uuuut: Fire Emblem - Shadow Dragon 67 %????? ;) wow. This will become be very useful, especially for new DS-Users.

Re: Recommended NDS games by genre, sorted by GameFAQs ratingNice list
miros

Re: Recommended NDS games by genre, sorted by GameFAQs ratingKamui, I might suggest you put Spoilers on every Genre to avoid this long post. This can also be convenient for, us, ds users to search for a specific game in a specific genre without dragging much. :)Good Job with the list! I didn't even know there was a sequel to Megaman ZX. DL time. :DP.S. It's Darky000 not Draky00. hahaha.

Re: Recommended NDS games by genre, sorted by GameFAQs ratingNow here's the $64,000 question! ;v) Can they all be downloaded from here?! ;v)

Re: Recommended NDS games by genre, sorted by GameFAQs ratingYes. Now where's my $64,000?

Re: Recommended NDS games by genre, sorted by GameFAQs ratingAs mentioned before, I also wouldn't recommend relying on ratings to serve as a replacement (or even an indicator) of quality. Word of mouth tends to be really reliable, especially from specialized communities like ROMulation. You can especially rely on people who love discussing game design. Sure, you'll run into some jaded faces (mine included :P) but for the most part they have seen and played a lot of games, and they can recommend the right game for almost anyone.tl;dr version: word of mouth > ratings

Re: Recommended NDS games by genre, sorted by GameFAQs ratinggreat guide kamuikarou

Re: Recommended NDS games by genre, sorted by GameFAQs ratingCould use Metacritic scores instead. ^^;; That's kind of a pain to look up all the games all over again...I agree though Sarah Kreuz, Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon was much better than that review suggests. It has a Metacritic score of 81, which is more in line with what it deserves, imo.I'm not against GameFAQs, & do look at their reviews once in a while when I want a deeper impression of a game, but honestly, I think the users there do better walk-throughs than reviews. <_<

Re: Recommended NDS games by genre, sorted by GameFAQs ratingI've played almost all of these. =[

Re: Recommended NDS games by genre, sorted by GameFAQs ratingWow nice list. I'll be looking forward to download games on this list. xD Too bad my EDGE runs out of space because of my many games. >_<

Re: Recommended NDS games by genre, sorted by GameFAQs ratingNice list. :)
Good looking, 'nuf to download. :$

Re: Recommended NDS games by genre, sorted by GameFAQs ratingGreat list, better than mine. ;D
keep up the good work.

Re: Recommended NDS games by genre, sorted by GameFAQs ratingNice list :D
Though I understand K and W could not be on that list... :(

Re: [26/10 Update!] Recommended NDS games by genreThanks everybody! I will try my best to keep the list updated. :)As for the GameFAQs rating, it's there because it's much better to order the list with it. The numbers can be removed as well but I consider to keep it there. At least until we can find a better way to play with the game orders...I actually have thought the Favor System:
- For every month, each user may choose to favor up to 5 games/series from each genre.
- The most favored games will move on top of the list, ignoring the GameFAQs rating it holds.Preview:

Favor System previewList of Recommended NDS Games:Puzzle Games:
[9] Pic Pic (95)
[7] Rittai Picross (J) (95)
[3] Professor Layton Series (87):
- Professor Layton and the Curious Village (86)
- Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box (88)
[2] 42 All Time Classics (81)
[1] Scribblenauts (80)

Spoiler: more Puzzle Games

[1] Picross (87)
[1] Tetris DS (86)
[1] Neves (86)
[1] Meteos (85)[nobbc]
[0] Space Bust A Move (83)
[0] Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords (79)
[0] Puyo Pop Fever (78)
[0] Quickspot (75)
[0] Chessmaster: The Art of Learning (74)
[0] Puzzle Quest: Galactrix (73)
[0] PictoImage (73)
[0] Big Brain Academy (71)
[0] Zoo Keeper (70)
[0] Pokemon Trozei! (67)
[0] Mechanic Master (66)[/nobbc]

Something like that... but it'll require lots of work to keep everybody's favors. :( So I won't do it for now.

Re: [26/10 Update!] Recommended NDS Games by Genremaybe you could separate some of the clump from 'Action/Adventure Games' to 'Platformer', Other than that good job :]I don't think it needs a favor system, surely too complicated.(also '2' is missing from the second Nanostray)
