pokewalker question

I just picked up a pokewalker for 50 cents at a thrift store.Yes i am freaking.lol.Can it be used with the rom?Or do you need the real game?thanks.

Please use the search next time as there are like 20 topics about this little subject. ::)You can't use it with the rom.The game has a special infrared chip in it to connect with the Pokewalker.You will need the real game, yes.

If i had one in hands i'd try it, i've seen in multiple sites and forums people saying they got it working with the japanese rom, don't know if it is b s or if only the US pokewalker uses infrared.

Most likely BS.I don't see why they would change the entire inner workings of the game just for the US/EU market. =\

It's BS, the pokewalker uses IR,flashcarts don't

and if you wanna know why, theres an infrared in the pokemon cart that only the pokewalker can use.
so it doesnt use the wireless function of the DS
