please help me find this ps1 game

you were a guy with a cannon thing as a hand. i remember you can get different types of ammo and i think the default was light blue and some other was purple. the beginning was a tutorial and it taught you how to shoot by having to break a wall or a bunch of rocks. then you end up at a small building but never go in. you get there by a small pathway. you are then ambushed by a tank from behind. when you destroy it i think the explosion brightens up the whole screen and goes on to the next level, in the next level i think you have different clothes or have clothes on, im not sure that's all i remember.I know about megaman... >:'(
