Original R4 won't play games when updated to wood?

Same box, same design, even came with the dumb little blue wrist strap and protective case.Recently, I found myself needing to upgrade from the original's 1.18 firmware, and I came upon the Wood series. I formatted my card, installed wood, and attempted to play a game from my "games" folder in the root. I got double white screens, with no game start-up. This happens with all ROMS I play. What's the problem?It may help to note that the ROMs I used were all pulled out of the backup folder I made before I formatted the microSD card.It may also help to note that the DS is a first generation DS.

If it's SDHC then it's not an original R4.

As said above, that is not an original R4, so wood is probably not compatible with it (or that version of wood isnt, theres a version for clones that might be).
