no$GBA sound issue and general no$GBA and NO$zoomer questions
J
rwnlet me know how it turns out
Nice colours , Nice sound , But SLOWwww
But i don't have a duo core PC
Just a pentium 4 , 2.4 gz and 2gb of ram
But the slow-ness might be down to a one core PC
R
well, i love it so far. and the sound is nice. to get rid of the static i just had to increase the buffer size to about 7k and well so far i'm loving it.but i am also running on dual core 2.0 GHz 4 gigs of ram, 64bit version of desmume also, and 1.7GB gpu
R
well the buffer settings needs a bit more tweaking on my end to get things worked out. they need a noise suppression setting. but then again so far i've only tried it with the professor layton game lol damn i get addicted to those games
R
i'll give it a try with the train zelda thing lol and let you know.

Ok

What are the recommended hardware requirements for DeSmuME?
From a purely technical viewpoint, there are no recommended requirements. However, for 'real-world' playable speeds, the following gives you good performance:Windows OS: Windows XP or Vista
Linux OS: Any recent Linux distribution with a 2.6 kernel.
3 GHz Processor
1 GB Available System Memory
Available Hard Drive Space: A few MB for DeSmuME, 100MB or so for a bunch of savestates and savefiles.
512 MB 3D Video Card (Nvidia GeForce), ATI cards are not recommended.
Sound Card.
Microphone.
In general, the more GHz, the better. The faster memory, the better. DeSmuME benefits a little but from multiple cores but not as much as raw ghz. DeSmuME is at the moment, unfortunately, slower than no$gba. It is reported that a 3ghz core speed on a core2 or better will get virtually every game playable.
I have a Nvidia GeForce 512mb, Weard but its still slow lol!
But i dose say
It is reported that a 3ghz core speed on a core2 or better will get virtually every game playable.

try turning off frame limit and trying it, it seems to run better when it's off but still some slow down. trying to find a fix for it while tweaking with the settings. because other than that. everything else runs and looks betterand apparently 0.9.4 runs a little smoother on not so powerful machines

Tyed it but no go, Just skips to much, Mabe wait for the next release!
I do have a Nds , its not a problem!
R
lol yea, well it's weird desmume uses almost nothing from your video card but it uses an insane amount of the cpu... it's ridiculous

Most emus and Pc games will use most of your CPU,ram, est
So you are best of to shut down any programs that you don't need to use, or hardware like usb printers if you graphics card is a PCI type
R
yea, i just think it would make sense wouldn't it make more sense to try to find a way if possible to make the emulator also use more from the gpu so it is less intense on the cpu. but then again i don't know i'm not very well versed in programming. at all.it just perplexes me that i can play all of the high end games rather well but a ds emulator doesn't run that well. but then again i don't know how they really work to be honest
M
Just use the best one available for now.
