Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection disable DS?

I've heard that if you use a flashcard, DSTT for example and then connect to the Nintendo Wi-Fi that it'll disable your DS.
Now I don't believe this, but I don't really want to take the chance..
Has anyone used their DS and flashcard over Nintendo Wi-Fi without problems?
I'd like to get the Shiny Pichu that's on now, but I'm loath to try it in case..

Fake rumor as far as I know. I've done countless events over Wi-Fi (ie. the Pichu event you mentioned)

May I ask which Flashcart you have.

I never had any problem connecting to the internet (Wi-Fi) with either my R4i SDHC as my R4 SDHC.It is fake, just connect, it is an build-in function. It can not harm your DS.

Sorry, I use the crappy internet of 2 MB/s of the neighbors T.TBut it won't connect sometimes so let's say I have no internet. I have no Pokémon game though :P
