New Super Mario Similarity

I love playing the new super mario bros on the NDS and just finished it. Are there any more of this side scrolling similar games like super mario bros for the NDS..Could anyone please recommend a good 2d platformer game? :)

There would be a few-but not as good...I can only think of 2-but they involve shooting and dying in 1 hit-these games create VERY angery people :(Contra 4 and metal slug 7.As for dedicated platformers...I can mostly think of gba ones...Or if you could be bothered-find a nes-snes emuator and get some of the older mario games.

alrighty, thanks for the info...

Unfortunately, Mario is pretty much all that's left in platformers nowadays. Unless you like Sonic, then there's Sonic Rush Adventure. On the GBA there are plenty, though! All of the Super Mario Advance games
Drill Dozer (I can't recommend this one enough!)
Sonic Advance 1-3
Rayman Advance (port of the original from PS1)
Wario Land 4 was supposedly good...If you're fiending for platformers in general, go back to the NES and SNES. Loads of'em on those systems. Also, you'll probably love New Super Mario Bros. Wii. It's shaping up to look pretty damn fun.

Legend of Stafy (or is it Starfy?)
Any of the Kirby games, Kirby Super Star Ultra, or Kirby Canvas Curse.

Here are some of the platformers available for DS:NSMB which you already have.
Yoshi's Island DS which is basically a remake of the GBA game which in my opinion was the best platformer ever.
Super Princess Peach, Behind the girly look is a good if slightly easy platformer.
Mega Man ZX Advent, if your interested in a more 'retro style of game.'Those are pretty much it as well as already mentioned sonic & kirby games.

EVERYONE IS WRONG, there is a great Mario-clone platformer for DS called Giana Sisters! I'm not kidding, give it 10 minutes, you'll be hooked.

kirby!!!!! i love kirby. i've been playing it since i was born (or as soon as i was able to hold the controls on the super nintendo)
drawn to life uses platforms..but in my opinion, its not that good.

WHY DOESN'T ANYONE LISTEN TO ME, play Giana Sisters! Download it right now! Its available here on romulation! I LOVE THIS GAME IT IS THE BEST MARIO CLONE I HAVE EVER PLAYED....sorry for the caps. I love platformers, and i freaking love Giana Sisters.
I am not joking guys.

try wario master of disguise for ds and mario vs donkey kong on gba
