new pc cant standby

hei, xp sp3 works with sata and the problem was software all along. thanks everybody for ur help and i need ur help once more. my new computer can turn on and off fine but it cant standby. when i standby, it turns off and when i turn it on there was 3 beeps from the motherboard and wouldn't turn on. i press reset and it works like normal again. what seems to be the problem here. motherboard is intel dp45sg. thsnks any help is appreciated.

The same problem happened to me as well,
but after I've changed it to XP Black Edition and XP SP2..
I can choose the StandBy option.

so the problem is xp and notthe motherboard?

It's how you configure your system.-I think you go to:
"Power Options" in Control Panel.

Try updating your intel drivers and your video card drivers. It might be an issue with power states (S5->S0 or something). Also, look for an update of your BIOS.

now another problem has arise. i just installed fifa07 in it and halfway thru playing a match it would crash. the screen froze and the sound was looping. i had to press reset and this happened twice. what is the problem with this? this is a new comp so it only has drivers from the cd provided with the hardware. thanks.

I have post about it as well....I can only assume that there's a conflict between your hardware or software...

there's another problem occurred, which I have to buy a new Motherboard and processor...

what new problem?

My Processor missed some of its Pins...which I have to buy new processor and motherboard...My old motherboard always makes a sound when I was playing FIFA 2009....
