Nds R4 purple screen!!! HELP

My NDS R4 is stuck on a purple screen and i cant use cheats either! The menu is purple and the game screen is like a silver type thing. I DONT WANT TO FORMAT IT. Are there any other ways to fix it!!!!!!????????????? PLEASE HELP!
