Mankind's prosperity has led to a vast population increase and serious food shortages. In an attempt to solve the food shortage problem, scientists create a new species to use for food, and place the herd in northern Japan. In time, the creatures mutate and attack the people of Japan. An international peacekeeping organization called the Armed Volunteers tries to stop the creatures, now referred to as "ruffians", but they also oppress the Japanese.Another group, referring to itself as the Savior Group and led by a mysterious woman named Achi, rises up to defend Japan against the ruffians and Armed Volunteers.[GAMEPLAY]Sin & Punishment's gameplay consist of both platforming and rail-shooter elements. Being a third-person rail-shooter,you're stuck to a fixed path and have only semi-control over Saki. You're able to double jump, dodge roll to the left & right and use the blade portion of your weapon to melee enemies or deflect projectiles. Sin & Punishment's gameplay is something you have to experience first-hand. Never too difficult or too easy..this game has something a lot of others are missing,a balance between difficulties. While the levels themselves are a blast to play, the epic boss encounters steal the show. Always one for crazy and intense boss fights,Treasure made sure there were no shortage of them in S&P. SCORE: 9/10!
[GRAPHICS]While not the best ever on the Nintendo 64,but because of the uniqueness of the characters and story, the graphics still carry great emphasis. While colorful and colorless at the same time, the environments are breathtaking and possibly the best eye-candy you'll get from a Nintendo 64 game. SCORE: 9/10
[AUDIO]The audio is excellent! From full English voice acting to some major kick ass level music. Though some of the music seems a little out of place for it's level. It might just be me but when I think of a deserted city the LAST thing I think of is a hard rock/techno hybrid track blasting in my ear. Nevertheless, the soundtrack is still amazing and it flows very well with the on-screen action.
SCORE: 10/10![CONTROLS]
Controls work really well if not a tad bit awkward at first. The analog stick move the aiming cross-hair while the D-pad/C-buttons(N64) are used for movement. Double tapping the D-pad/C-buttons(N64) or X/Y buttons(GC) allows Saki to dodge enemy fire by rolling. Pressing the A button(all) switches the cross-hair from manual to lock-on. The lock-on cross-hair takes about 2 seconds to fully lock. This is best for the Giant level bosses you end up facing after each level. Though no where near as good as StarFox 64 's lock-on system. SCORE: 9/10[Lasting Appeal]
A very fast paced shooter with intriguing characters and a very interesting plot. Unique is kind of an understatement in this case.
Enjoy blowing stuff up? This is the game for you..or at least check it out.
A guaranteed 2 to 3 hours of gameplay and multiple play-throughs trying to top your best scores. Sadly no cooperative or multi-player modes. Worth the 1,200 wii points? Definitely! Indeed it's short but ever so sweet. SCORE: 8/10OVERALL SCORE: 45/50!http://www.nintendo.com/wii/virtualconsole/games/detail/Bcv-dkFrpnwmRxc4tBNsOtLD8QpbaHTs - Official Nintendo Page
